Decay of Reconstruction

In nature decay or decomposition of organic materials become the building blocks for other organisms or new elements to be created later. Trees, animals, and insects benefit from the breaking down of dead lifeforms. In the Jamesville rock quarry humans have broken down the earth for building blocks to benefit us in the construction of society. Now that the major desire has stopped, they have left behind materials that can and have become broken down, and are now waiting to serve as new building blocks for nature and humans alike. I am going to document these items and give what I can gather new meaning. I am going to create a sculpture of broken down junk, making something beautiful. I will be using the found iron, twine, dirt, organic elements like flower seeds and grass. What we have here today is the construction of part without yet the plants which are still a work in progress.

Thank You

Sarah Kench

I have been going through a lot of thought concerning my gender in comparison to the student body at Syracuse University. I was sitting down one afternoon in the sheffer lobby, and put all my feeling on paper. Once edited down I decided to used the piece in a class project. This is the result.

Snow: 2011

This is a time trial I made last winter when borrowing the camcorder from the cage at SU. I had fun making this piece, it’s not just a time laps, but how I chose to add frames during the period of two hours. adding frames makes the focus of a certain point more interesting.

this is the original look, without sound

Cat & Rat
Winter break 1010
I was bored between semesters, so I started looking at things an utube. I came across origami and decided to make one, after one I was hooked. I had a lot of fun making animals and stuff I wanted to show them off. While taking pictures of my work the artist in me started composing each shot to become art as well. This is one of the photos I took.

This is what happens when someone beaks your heart. It’s not a great feeling, but sometimes some good art comes from it. I believe that art has kept hope alive.

This idea came from the concept of a gargoyle. I wanted to make something of a super heroine. The idea may make it into something someday, but for now she’s here.
